Feast day: July 18
St. Frederick of Utrecht
A bishop of Utrecht and reforming preacher who, by tradition, was assassinated for rebuking the great of his day over their morals and for sending missionaries to the still-pagan north.
He pressed the conversion of the northern Frisians and paid for his outspokenness with his life, struck down after celebrating Mass.
